The idea behind Wagaboondi

It all begins
with a connection.

Because, after all,
we are all the same.

Wagaboondi is a different idea of the world: a strong desire to see it through the eyes of its people.

It’s the free spirit of those who leave their harbours to create bonds along the way.

It’s a sense of shared humanity, a desire to journey not only across landscapes but into the lives and cultures of others.

Through stories, snapshots and people, Wagaboondi is about breaking down stereotypes, inviting others to embrace adventure and discover the beauty of human connections: crossing borders, building bonds and making the world feel a little closer with each step.

Because we are all much closer than we think.

Who

Hello!

I’m Domenico. Originally from Italy, life eventually led me to settle in Switzerland. I’m an explorer, an engineer, a friend. I do a lot of things, and I have a passion for travel, cultures, people, geopolitics, aviation, sports and watches.

Let me tell you something else, a little story about me: my first trip. I was just 15 days old. No, it’s not a typo. You got it right: 15 days old. My mum and dad took me on a road trip through Tuscany. Of course, I don’t remember it, but I can tell you that from that moment I’ve never stopped exploring.

My father instilled in me a deep curiosity, always encouraging me to push beyond the familiar. My mother, on the other hand, nurtured my sense of humanity and love for people, teaching me the value of connection. This unique blend of curiosity and compassion has shaped me into the person I am today.

03

What

Going beyond and bringing back something to share.

This is how I move through the world, with a heart wide open to new friendships and unexpected stories. In a world where the beliefs, thoughts and choices of the majority are often accepted as absolute truths, I have always chosen a different path.

I believe there is always another truth: the one we see with our own eyes and through the eyes of those who live in the places we explore.

04

Where

I’m fascinated by countries with complicated pasts that often don’t have a great reputation in the media. I have found that these places hold some of the most inspiring, beautiful and nuanced stories anywhere in the world. This is why I love going beyond the rhetoric and showing their true side.

Sit back, relax and enjoy stories, pictures and people from some of the most remote and controversial parts of the world.

05

Why

Because exploration isn’t just about discovering new places.

It is about building meaningful bonds with people and cultures along the way. There is always a reason to go, meet people and wander about the beautiful planet we live on.
